BROUSSARD - 13 people were taken to the hospital after a vehicle hit parade participants in New Iberia, Acadian Ambulance said.

According to Acadian on social media, emergency officials initially responded around 2:36 p.m. with seven ambulances and one Air Med helicopter. Three more ambulances and an additional helicopter are being sent.

Acadian said 11 people were taken by ground and two were taken by air.

The incident took place at the Louisiana Lao New Year Celebration by Captain Cade Road in Broussard.
